An artist, communicator, educator, medievalist, learner and wonderer – could be wanderer too

I started doing calligraphy when I was twelve. As a young adult, I took formal classes and have since had the privilege of studying with some wonderful teachers from England, the US, Europe and Africa. My art work now focuses on lettering, color, illumination, fine detail painting and related aspects of calligraphy and watercolor painting.

I have a busy teaching schedule in the area as well as presenting workshops out of town and on Zoom.  Commissions and other work occupy the rest of my work time too.

I am active in many non-profits for art and music in the area, and volunteer my services in the community where you will often find me doing calligraphy bookmarks at events at schools or in the community.

Area Woman magazine did a profile on me in their October edition so click here to read this article.  I also was asked to write an article on the St John’s Bible – one of my passions that I keenly follow and delight in doing public presentations on too.

The FM Extra did a write up on me for their November weekly article.  Click here to read this article. And in 2016 they did another article on my calligraphy to be read here.

Many years back I was awarded the YWCA Woman of Year for Arts and Communications.  A truly humbling experience to have even been nominated at all.  Click here for the press release.  More recently, I was awarded two medals for teaching as well as the Silver Brush Award for services to art in our area.
